Zeman Mini Marathon

For many years, Zeman has had a tradition of hosting a “Mini Marathon” for all students in grades K-5. This tradition has become an important event for our school and we are excited for the marathon to continue.

Students in Kindergarten will run one lap around the building/track.  First and second grades will be running 2 laps around the school/track or one mile.  Students in third, fourth and fifth grades may choose to run one, two or three miles. Parents are invited to share the run with their child, either by cheering or running with them.

**** All parents/guests will need to notify the school’s office or their child’s classroom teacher before May 22, that they will be attending. This will help speed up the check in process. All parents/guests will enter Door #1 to check in and receive a nametag. You will then be directed to the playground for the marathon. Early arrival is encouraged.

Schedule – (Times are approximate – races will begin when previous race is complete)

9:15 – 9:30 2nd Grade- 1 mile
9:30 – 9:45 Kindergarten- 1 lap
9:45 – 10:00 1st Grade- 1 mile
10:00 – 10:30 3rd, 4th & 5th Grades – 3 mile
10:30 – 10:45 3rd, 4th & 5th Grades – 2 mile
10:45 – 11:00 3rd, 4th & 5th Grades – 1 mile

*** PLEASE NOTE: Any parent who would like to run with their child is required to check in through the office for a nametag plus fill out a waiver form. Tables will be located on the patio behind the cafeteria with the forms.

 

Marathon Volunteers

Our Zeman Marathon will be held on May 22nd 9:15 – 11:15. We are in need of volunteers to hand out medals, give students water, and help with setting up and tearing down. If you are available to help on the morning of May 22nd, please let us know! Our marathon rain date is scheduled for May 23rd.
